OHF is a UK registered charity (number 1052478) which exists to make grants to charities working with deaf children. The Foundation evolved out of Ovingdean Hall School for Deaf Children, which closed as a result of declining pupil numbers in 2010.

We care about your privacy and take the responsibility of data collection and storage very seriously, and we are registered with the Information Commissioners Office. Our privacy policy is concerned with how we collect, use and keep personal data. Personal data is anything by which a person can be identified such as name or email.

What personal data we collect and use: We treat your data with respect. We collect the name, address and occasionally the email address of a person when they make a donation (one-off or Standing Order), or when they sign up to receive our newsletters. We also record the names/ emails of our contacts at the charities we support. We use this information for our record-keeping, Gift Aid records and to send mailings. You have rights over your personal data – please view the Information Commissioner Office’s page on your individual rights.

Website: We have a WordPress.org website. WordPress.org collect non-personally identifiable information about our website visitors which they aggregate and display on our secure dashboard. None of the information we see is personally identifiable. WordPress.org’s privacy policy can be viewed here.

How we keep or share personal data: Our personal data it is kept securely on a database provided by a third party supplier. Their privacy statement can be viewed here. We do not sell or lend your personal data.

Children: If you are under 18, please ensure you have your parent/ guardian’s consent before signing up for our newsletters. Please note that we will not knowingly market to or accept donations from people who are under 18.

Legitimate Interests: One of the lawful reasons for processing data is Legitimate Interests. This means we can process your data if we have a genuine and legitimate reason, and we are not are harming your interests. We rely on Legitimate Interests to send newsletters and letters to the people who have made donations in the last three years (one-off or Standing Order). If you want to be removed from the mailing list, or change how we contact you, please contact us.
